Well, it seems that Doug and I are officially unemployed!!! Master Roofing has downsized and we were let go. I never thought that the construction industry would reach this low, but it has and Doug and I are both without jobs at the same time. But, it will be okay!
Doug is opening a "Play and Trade" store about a mile down the road and is setting up all the proper documents to move forward. I mentioned that I felt a vacation to California was in the near future well this is wierd! It just so happens that the 4 day training seminar for new owners is in California, so Doug will be heading to California in a few weeks..... Not really a vacation because Doug is the only one that is going but I found that wierd that the trip was not planned when I said that!!!
As for me, a lot of opportunities have opened up. I have sent my resume to a few places for outside sales and one of them is in Fort Myers Florida. It is a position with Owens Corning for the South West area. I would have to relocate but I would be home Friday - Sunday. The pay and benifits make it very enticing... So, keep your fingers crossed and pray for us! We are getting pretty good at making it through tough times.

best wishes to you both on finding something new.
Krista,
What is a "play & trade"?
Kim
Did you go down and register as I advised. Remember, you paid for the insurance and are entitled to it now that you are unemployed. Do not think about anything that might disqualify you, let them do all the determinations.
Marcel, I called on Monday 2/11 and registered and they told me to call back on the 23rd to call in my hours.... Unless I am looking at the wrong calendar the 23rd is a Sunday and we all know there is NO WAY they work on Sundays!!!!
Kim, A Play n Trade store is a franchise that you can go in and buy new and used video games and also sell old games. You can also hold parties there or just have a tournament with friends. Doug has had many accountants, attourneys and friends that are business owners look over the paperwork and everything seems to be on the up and up. Doug and Daymond are flying to California next week for training on the computers and inventory and also meet with the people that will help him with construction of the unit he rents and the grand opening. He is definitely excited and I am coming around.
I think I will feel better about everything when I can finally leave this house and GO TO WORK!!!
The play and trade business sounds like a great idea. I've heard that the sale of video games exceeds the sales of all CDs and DVDs combined.
Krista, the 23rd is a Saturday.
